PD Heike Beck
The Beck lab is working on the role of cellular redox-systems on tumor growth and tumor angiogenesis. To study the specific functions of involved enzymes, several mouse lines with specific mutations in the glutathion- and thioredoxin-dependent systems are used. An additional focus of our lab is post-ischemic repair mechanisms following stroke. In this context several transcription factors are investigated concerning their role in gliosis, inflammation and post-ischemic angiogenesis.
